Last week, I was playing Connect Four with my daughter. We were dropping discs, blocking each other’s moves, laughing a little — doing all the things that probably looked like a dad being fully engaged. And in many ways, I was there. I was sitting with her. I was looking at the board. I was playing the game. But then I noticed something. I was going through the motions. My hands knew what to do. My eyes were on the board. I was responding when she talked. Nothing looked wrong
